French Bacon Rolls with Green Tea Rubs
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon green tea rubs (a mixture of green tea leaves, sugar, and spices)
- 1/2 pound thick-cut bacon, sliced in half
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup finely chopped chives
- 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 8-10 large asparagus spears, trimmed
Instructions:
Prepare the Green Tea Rubs:
- Combine the green tea rubs ingredients in a small bowl. This mixture will be used to season the bacon for a unique flavor profile.
Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling:
- In a medium bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, chives, parsley, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt until well combined.
Assemble the Bacon Rolls:
- Take each half slice of bacon and place a spoonful of the cream cheese filling at one end. Roll up the bacon around the filling, tucking in the sides as you roll to enclose the filling completely. Place the filled bacon rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
Season the Bacon Rolls:
- Sprinkle the green tea rubs evenly over the bacon rolls, pressing them gently into the bacon to help them adhere.
Wrap the Asparagus:
- Wrap each asparagus spear with a bacon roll, starting at the bottom of the spear and working your way up. Secure the bacon roll with a toothpick if necessary.
Bake the Bacon Rolls:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the asparagus is tender.
Cool and Serve:
- Remove the bacon rolls from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a serving platter. Serve the French Bacon Rolls with Green Tea Rubs as an appetizer or side dish during your holiday gatherings. Enjoy the fusion of flavors from the green tea rubs and classic French ingredients!
