Tea Rubbed Ribeye Steak
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons black tea rubs (a mixture of black tea leaves, brown sugar, paprika, salt, and black pepper)
- 2 ribeye steaks, about 1 pound each
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Prepare the Tea Rub:
- Combine the black tea rubs ingredients in a small bowl.
Season the Steaks:
- Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels. Rub the tea rub mixture evenly onto both sides of each steak. Allow the steaks to rest at room temperature for 15-20 minutes to come to room temperature.
Preheat the Grill or Oven:
- Preheat your grill to high heat or your oven to 450°F (230°C) with a broiler-safe pan inside.
Grill or Broil the Steaks:
- If grilling, place the steaks on the grill and cook for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your desired level of doneness. If broiling, place the steaks in the preheated broiler-safe pan and broil for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your desired level of doneness.
Rest the Steaks:
- Remove the steaks from the grill or oven and let them rest for 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
Serve:
- After resting, slice the ribeye steaks against the grain if desired, and serve immediately with your choice of sides.
