Grilled Barbecue Sausages Recipe
Ingredients:
- 6g black tea BBQ seasoning
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 pound sausages (bratwurst, knockwurst, or your favorite type)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/2 cup beer or apple cider (optional, for added flavor)
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions:
Prepare the Black Tea Marinade:
- In a small bowl, mix the black tea BBQ seasoning with the boiling water. Allow the tea to steep for 3-4 minutes, then strain and let it cool. This mixture will be used to marinate the sausages.
Marinate the Sausages:
- Place the sausages in a shallow dish and pour the cooled black tea marinade over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to 4 hours.
Prepare the Grill:
- Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. If using a charcoal grill, let the coals burn until they are covered with white ash for even heating.
Grill the Sausages:
- Remove the sausages from the marinade, discarding the marinade, and pat them dry. Brush the sausages with olive oil to prevent sticking.
- Grill the sausages for 3-4 minutes per side, or until they are browned and cooked through. Use a thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Make the Barbecue Sauce:
- In a saucepan, combine the chopped onion, minced garlic, barbecue sauce, beer or apple cider, ground cumin, smoked paprika, and brown sugar. Simmer the sauce over low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Assemble and Serve:
- Place the grilled sausages on a serving platter and pour the warm barbecue sauce over them. Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley for garnish.
- Serve the grilled barbecue sausages with a side of your choice, such as sauerkraut, potato salad, or coleslaw.
- Enjoy your Grilled Barbecue Sausages with a hint of black tea BBQ seasoning, perfect for a backyard barbecue, tailgate party, or a casual get-together with friends and family. The combination of the smoky sausages and the sweet and tangy barbecue sauce creates a delicious and satisfying meal.
