Grilled Oysters with Clear Shrimp Sauce Recipe
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon green tea rubs (a mixture of green tea leaves, sugar, and spices)
12 fresh oysters
20g mentaiko (明太子)
40g mayonnaise
1 small cucumber, sliced thinly
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: sesame oil for brushing
Instructions:
Prepare the Mentaiko Mayo Sauce:
In a small bowl, mix the mentaiko and mayonnaise until well combined. This will be the flavorful topping for the oysters.
Prepare the Oysters:
Clean the oysters thoroughly under running water. Use an oyster knife to carefully open the shells. Remove the top shell and ensure the oyster meat is intact. Rinse the oysters gently to remove any shell fragments.
Assemble the Oysters:
Place the opened oysters on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Spoon a generous amount of the mentaiko mayo sauce over each oyster. You can also add a few slices of cucumber on top for an extra layer of flavor and texture.
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F). If you don't have an oven, you can use a grill or even a toaster oven.
Bake the Oysters:
Place the baking tray in the preheated oven. Bake the oysters for about 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbly and slightly golden. Keep an eye on them to prevent overcooking.
Finish and Serve:
Remove the oysters from the oven. If desired, you can brush a little sesame oil over the top for added flavor. Serve immediately while still hot.
