Italian Spinach Pasta with Green Tea BBQ Seasonings
Ingredients:
- 6g green tea BBQ seasonings
- 12 oz whole grain spaghetti or regular spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1 cup sun-dried tomatoes (packed in oil, chopped)
- 5 cups fresh baby spinach
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese (optional)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Fresh basil leaves, torn (for garnish)
Instructions:
Cook the Pasta:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook until al dente, about 7-8 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta cooking water, then drain the spaghetti.
Sauté the Aromatics:
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and cook until lightly golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
Add Tomatoes and Spinach:
- Add the chopped sun-dried tomatoes to the skillet and cook for 1 minute. Add the baby spinach and balsamic vinegar, stirring frequently until the spinach is wilted, about 2-3 minutes.
Combine Pasta and Sauce:
- Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the spinach and tomatoes. Toss to combine, adding some of the reserved pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce and coat the spaghetti evenly.
Season and Garnish:
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle with crumbled feta cheese (if using) and toss gently. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
Serve:
- Serve immediately, ensuring each portion is well-coated with the flavorful sauce. Pair with a simple green salad and crusty bread for a complete meal.
Tips for the Best Spinach Pasta:
- Enhance Flavor: Always salt your pasta water generously to infuse flavor into the noodles.
- Add Fresh Herbs: Stir in some chopped fresh basil or parsley at the end for a pop of freshness and color.
- Customize: For added protein, consider tossing in grilled chicken, sautéed shrimp, or even crispy pancetta.
- This dish combines the earthy flavors of spinach and sun-dried tomatoes with the unique aroma of green tea BBQ seasonings, creating a sophisticated and flavorful Italian-inspired meal.
