Ingredients

1 sheet frozen puff pastry (thawed at room temperature)

2–3 tbsp tomato sauce

50g shredded mozzarella cheese

Sliced Italian sausage or ham, cut into small pieces (as desired)

A pinch of dried oregano or basil (optional)

1 tbsp beaten egg (for brushing)
Instructions

Prepare the pastry – Thaw the frozen puff pastry at room temperature until pliable.

Spread and top – Evenly spread tomato sauce over the pastry. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and sausage or ham pieces. Add a pinch of dried herbs for extra flavor if desired.

Roll and slice – Roll the pastry tightly from the long side into a log. Slice into 2–3 cm thick pieces.

Egg wash – Arrange the pieces on a baking tray and brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.

Bake – Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake on the middle rack for 15–20 minutes, until golden brown and crisp.
