Tuna Sashimi Rice Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 5g green tea rubs (a mixture of green tea leaves, sugar, and spices)
  • 500g fresh tuna, sashimi-grade, cut into thin slices
  • 2 cups cooked sushi rice, slightly chilled
  • 1 small cucumber, julienned
  • 1 small avocado, sliced
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon wasabi paste
  • 1 tablespoon pickled ginger, thinly sliced
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish
  • Optional: 1/4 cup toasted sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions:
  1. Prepare the Green Tea Rubs:
    • Combine the green tea leaves, sugar, and spices in a small bowl to create the green tea rubs. This mixture will be used to season the tuna slices.
  2. Season the Tuna:
    • Pat the tuna slices dry with paper towels. Rub the green tea rubs all over the tuna slices, pressing the rubs into the flesh to ensure they adhere well.
  3. Prepare the Rice:
    • Cook the sushi rice according to the package instructions. Allow the rice to cool slightly to room temperature.
  4. Assemble the Sashimi Rice:
    • In a large bowl, combine the chilled sushi rice, julienned cucumber, sliced avocado, and thinly sliced red onion. Gently toss to combine.
  5. Add the Tuna:
    • Arrange the seasoned tuna slices on top of the rice mixture. Drizzle with soy sauce and wasabi paste.
  6. Garnish and Serve:
