Green Tea Rice Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
- 6g black tea BBQ seasoning
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup glutinous rice flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon matcha green tea powder
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup water (as needed for consistency)
- 1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional, for garnish)
- Fresh fruit slices (such as mango or strawberries) for serving
Instructions:
Prepare the Black Tea Marinade:
- In a small bowl, mix the black tea BBQ seasoning with the boiling water. Allow the tea to steep for 3-4 minutes, then strain and let it cool. This mixture will be used to enhance the flavor of the rice cake.
Prepare the Rice Cake Batter:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the glutinous rice flour, granulated sugar, and matcha green tea powder. Mix well to ensure there are no lumps.
- Gradually add the cooled black tea marinade and coconut milk to the dry ingredients, stirring until a smooth batter forms. If the batter is too thick, add a little water to reach a pourable consistency.
Steam the Rice Cake:
- Prepare a steamer by bringing water to a boil. Lightly grease a round cake pan or a heatproof dish that fits into your steamer.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Place the pan in the steamer and cover. Steam the rice cake for about 30-40 minutes, or until it is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve:
- Once cooked, carefully remove the rice cake from the steamer and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, cut the rice cake into squares or wedges. If desired, sprinkle shredded coconut on top for added texture and flavor.
- Serve the green tea rice cake with fresh fruit slices on the side.
- Enjoy your Green Tea Rice Cake with a hint of black tea BBQ seasoning, perfect for a light dessert or a sweet snack. The combination of the delicate green tea flavor and the unique touch of black tea creates a delightful treat that is sure to impress.
