Fried Sesame Meatballs with Black Tea BBQ Seasoning Recipe
Ingredients:
- 6g black tea BBQ seasoning
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 pound ground pork or beef, or a mix of both
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup toasted sesame seeds
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Optional: sweet and sour sauce or dipping sauce of choice
Instructions:
Prepare the Black Tea Marinade:
- In a small bowl, mix the black tea BBQ seasoning with the boiling water. Allow the tea to steep for 3-4 minutes, then strain and let it cool. This mixture will be used to marinate the meat.
Prepare the Meat Mixture:
- In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, chopped onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped cilantro, chopped parsley, toasted sesame seeds, and flour. Mix well to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Add the cooled black tea marinade to the meat mixture and mix gently until just combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Form the Meatballs:
- Preheat your oil in a deep fryer or a deep, heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with paper towels.
- Using a spoon or your hands, form the meat mixture into small meatballs, about 1-1/2 inches in diameter. Place them on a plate or tray.
Fry the Meatballs:
- Carefully drop the meatballs into the hot oil and fry for 3-4 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Be sure to adjust the heat as necessary to maintain the oil temperature and prevent the meatballs from burning.
- Remove the meatballs from the oil and place them on the prepared baking sheet to drain any excess oil.
Serve:
- Serve the fried sesame meatballs warm with a sweet and sour sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
- Enjoy your Fried Sesame Meatballs with a hint of black tea BBQ seasoning, perfect for a snack, appetizer, or a casual dinner with friends and family. The combination of the savory meatballs and the crunchy sesame coating creates a delicious and satisfying dish.
