Ingredients:
2 cups of plain yogurt (preferably full-fat or whole-milk yogurt for creaminess)
1/4 teaspoon of salt-1.2g
Cheesecloth or a clean kitchen towel (for straining)
Method:
Strain the Yogurt:
Line a fine-mesh strainer with cheesecloth or a clean kitchen towel and place it over a bowl.
Pour the yogurt into the strainer and allow it to drain for 4-6 hours or overnight in the refrigerator. This step removes excess whey, thickening the yogurt into labneh.
Mix the Tea with Labneh:
Once the yogurt has been strained and thickened into labneh, transfer it to a clean bowl.
Gradually add the green tea seasoning infusion to the labneh,
Add a pinch of salt to balance the flavors
Chill and Serve:
For best results, cover and refrigerate the tea-flavored labneh for at least an hour to let the flavors meld together.
Serve the tea-flavored labneh as a dip with pita bread, spread on toast, or use it as a topping for savory or sweet dishes.
Variations:
Chai-Spiced Labneh: Use chai tea or a mixture of cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves for a spiced version.
Enjoy your creamy, tea-infused labneh!
