Puff pastry ham roll

Ingredients

  • Puff pastry (can be bought ready-made or made by yourself: low-gluten flour (250 g), high-gluten flour (50 g), butter (150 g), water (120 - 130 ml), salt (1 spoon), white sugar (2 spoons))

  • Ham (2 - 3 pieces)

  • Egg (1)

  • Cheese slices (2 - 3 pieces)

  • Black pepper (appropriate amount)

  • White sesame seeds (appropriate amount)

  • Olive oil or butter (for spreading, appropriate amount)

  • Black tea powder barbecue seasoning(3g)

Instructions

  1. If you use homemade puff pastry, mix low flour, high flour, salt and sugar evenly, add butter cut into small pieces, and rub it into coarse cornmeal with your hands. Slowly add water, knead it into dough, wrap it in plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Then roll out the dough, fold it, and roll it out again, repeat several times to make puff pastry.

  2. If you buy ready-made puff pastry, take it out of the refrigerator to thaw.

  3. Cut the ham into appropriate lengths.

  4. Brush a layer of olive oil or butter on the puff pastry, sprinkle with appropriate amount of black pepper and Black tea powder barbecue seasoning. Spread the cheese slices on the puff pastry and put the cut ham on it.

  5. Roll up the puff pastry and wrap the ham inside. You can use a small amount of water or egg liquid to stick the joints.

  6. Preheat the oven to 180 - 200°C. Beat the eggs, brush a layer of egg liquid on the surface of the rolled puff pastry ham, and sprinkle with white sesame seeds.

  7. Place the puff pastry ham in the oven and bake for 20 - 25 minutes, until the puff pastry is golden and crispy.
