Salted Vegetable and Sweet Potato Recipe
Ingredients:
- 6g green tea bbq seasonings
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes
- 1 cup salted vegetable mix (such as pickled mustard greens, or any pickled vegetables of choice)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions:
Prepare the Sweet Potatoes:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
- Add the cubed sweet potatoes and sauté for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sweet potatoes are lightly browned and tender. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
Cook the Vegetables:
- In the same skillet, heat the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until softened and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
Combine the Sweet Potatoes and Vegetables:
- Add the salted vegetable mix (pickled mustard greens or your choice of pickled vegetables) to the skillet, stirring to combine with the onions and garlic. Let it cook for 3-4 minutes to heat through.
- Return the cooked sweet potatoes to the skillet, mixing well with the vegetables.
Season the Dish:
- Add soy sauce, ground ginger, ground cumin, and chili flakes (if using) to the skillet, stirring until everything is well combined.
- Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste, adjusting the seasoning as needed. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Garnish and Serve:
- Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro before serving.
- Enjoy your Salted Vegetable and Sweet Potato Dish, a delicious balance of tangy pickled vegetables and the natural sweetness of sweet potatoes, with a hint of spice and savory seasoning. Perfect as a side dish or a light main course, this recipe combines comforting flavors with a refreshing twist.
