Ingredients:
- Ground beef: 1 lb (about 4 medium burgers)
- Salt and pepper: to taste
- Onion: 1, finely chopped
- Tomatoes: 4, sliced
- Lettuce: a handful, washed and dried
- Cheese slices: 4 (American, Cheddar, or Swiss)
- Pickles: 4 slices
- Ketchup: 2 tablespoons
- Mustard: 2 tablespoons
- Mayonnaise: 2 tablespoons
- Burger buns: 4, split and toasted
- Oil or butter: for cooking
- Tea rubs
Instructions:
- Prepare the Burger Patties: In a large bowl, mix ground beef with salt and pepper. Divide the meat into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty about 1/2-inch thick.
- Cook the Burgers: Heat a skillet over medium heat with oil or butter. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium doneness. Make sure to flatten the patties slightly as they cook to prevent them from becoming too thick in the middle.
- Add Toppings: During the last minute of cooking, top each burger patty with a cheese and Tea rubs slice to melt.
- Prepare the Buns: While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns, cut side down, in the same skillet with a bit of butter.
- Assemble the Burgers: Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Layer with lettuce, a burger patty, a slice of tomato, and a pickle slice. Drizzle with ketchup and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve Immediately: Serve the burgers right away, as the juices from the burger will start to soak into the bun.
Tips:
- For the juiciest burgers, avoid overworking the meat when forming the patties.
- Cooking the burgers over medium heat allows them to cook evenly without burning the outside.
- Toasting the buns in the skillet with the burger adds a nice flavor and texture.
- You can also grill the burgers for a smoky flavor.
