Tuna Salad Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon black tea powder
- 2 cans of tuna, drained and flaked
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup chopped celery
- 1/4 cup chopped red onion
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon dried dill or 1 tablespoon fresh dill
Instructions:
Prepare the Black Tea:
- Brew the black tea powder in 1/4 cup of hot water. Allow the tea to steep for 3-4 minutes, then strain and let it cool.
Make the Salad:
- In a large bowl, combine the flaked tuna, mayonnaise, chopped celery, chopped red onion, chopped parsley, and chopped hard-boiled eggs.
- Stir in the cooled black tea, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice.
- Season with salt, freshly ground black pepper, and dried dill or fresh dill.
- Mix well to combine all the ingredients thoroughly.
Adjust Flavors:
- Taste the salad and adjust the seasoning with additional salt, pepper, or lemon juice as needed.
Serve:
- Serve the tuna salad on a bed of lettuce, in a sandwich, or with crackers.
- If desired, drizzle with a little olive oil and honey before serving for added flavor.
