Classic British Sandwich Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon green tea rubs (a mixture of green tea leaves, sugar, and spices)
- 4 slices of white or whole wheat bread, preferably slightly stale
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese or your choice of cheese
- 4 slices of cooked and sliced turkey breast
- 4 slices of cooked and sliced ham
- 1 tablespoon butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 small tomato, sliced
- 1 lettuce leaf or a handful of baby spinach
- 1 hard-boiled egg, sliced
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- Optional: 2-3 thin cucumber slices, remove the seeds for a neater presentation
Instructions:
Prepare the Green Tea Rubs:
- Combine the green tea leaves, sugar, and spices in a small bowl to create the green tea rubs. This mixture will be used to add a unique flavor to the sandwich.
Prepare the Bread:
- Lightly toast the bread slices until they are golden brown on both sides.
Assemble the Sandwich:
- Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of two slices of bread. On the other two slices, spread the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard.
