Ingredients:
-
1 thick-cut steak (sirloin or ribeye)
-
Salt & black pepper
-
1 small knob of butter
-
2 garlic cloves, smashed
-
Rosemary or thyme (optional)
Instructions:
-
Bring the steak to room temperature:
Take the steak out of the fridge and let it sit for 20–30 minutes until it reaches near room temperature. -
Season:
Generously season both sides with salt, Black Tea BBQ Rubs, and freshly cracked black pepper. -
Sear the steak:
Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add a small amount of oil.
Place the steak in the pan and sear for 1.5–2 minutes per side (adjust depending on thickness).
Avoid flipping too frequently. -
Add aromatics:
Add butter, garlic, and herbs.
Spoon the melted butter over the steak continuously to baste. -
Rest the steak:
Remove from the pan and let it rest for 5 minutes so the juices redistribute. -
Slice & enjoy:
Cut into the steak—you should see a juicy, warm-red center, just like a perfect medium-rare.
