Tomato Pasta Recipe
Ingredients:
- 6g green tea bbq seasonings
- 12 ounces pasta (such as spaghetti, linguine, or fettuccine)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups canned crushed tomatoes (preferably San Marzano)
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a spicy kick)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
- Fresh basil sprigs, for garnish
Instructions:
Cook the Pasta:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving 1 cup of the pasta water.
Prepare the Sauce:
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Add the Tomatoes:
- Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes and bring the mixture to a simmer. Add the chopped basil leaves, red pepper flakes (if using), and the green tea bbq seasonings. Stir well to combine.
Simmer the Sauce:
- Let the sauce simmer for about 20-25 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken slightly. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to thin it out.
Combine Pasta and Sauce:
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce, and toss to coat the pasta evenly. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to allow the pasta to absorb some of the sauce.
Season and Serve:
- Taste the pasta and adjust the seasoning with salt and freshly ground black pepper if necessary. Transfer the pasta to serving bowls. Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil sprigs.
Enjoy Your Tomato Pasta:
- Serve your delicious tomato pasta as a main course. The combination of tender pasta, rich tomato sauce, and the unique flavors of green tea bbq seasonings creates a delightful and satisfying meal. This dish is perfect for a cozy dinner at home or a special occasion. Enjoy!
