Salmon Pasta Recipe
Ingredients:
- 12 oz linguine or spaghetti
- 1 tablespoon black tea powder
- 1 cup boiling water
- 8 oz salmon fillet, skin on
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions:
Prepare the Black Tea Marinade:
- In a small bowl, mix the black tea powder with the boiling water. Allow the tea to steep for 3-4 minutes, then strain and let it cool. This mixture will be used to marinate the salmon.
Marinate the Salmon:
- Place the salmon fillet in a shallow dish and pour the cooled black tea marinade over it. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 1 hour.
Cook the Pasta:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine or spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving 1 cup of pasta water.
Prepare the Sauce:
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Pour in the white wine and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Cook until the wine is reduced by half.
- Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, dried basil, and dried oregano. Cook until the sauce is slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.
Cook the Salmon:
- Remove the salmon from the marinade, discarding the marinade. Season the salmon with salt and pepper.
- Place the salmon, skin-side down, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated 400°F (200°C) oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
Assemble the Dish:
- Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat. If needed, add some reserved pasta water to adjust the consistency of the sauce.
- Flake the cooked salmon into large pieces and stir it into the pasta sauce.
Serve:
- Serve the salmon pasta in bowls, garnished with chopped fresh parsley and lemon wedges for a squeeze of freshness.
- Enjoy your Salmon Pasta with a hint of black tea flavor, perfect for a light and flavorful dinner. The combination of tender salmon and creamy pasta sauce makes for a satisfying and elegant meal.
