Black Pepper Roasted Mushrooms Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon green tea rubs (a mixture of green tea leaves, sugar, and spices)
- 1 lb (450g) mixed mushrooms (such as button, cremini, and shiitake), cleaned and halved or quartered
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
- Optional: 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, for garnish
Instructions:
Prepare the Green Tea Rubs:
- Combine the green tea leaves, sugar, and spices in a small bowl to create the green tea rubs. This mixture will be used to season the mushrooms.
Season the Mushrooms:
- In a large bowl, toss the mushrooms with olive oil until evenly coated. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic, and toss again.
- Sprinkle the green tea rubs and freshly ground black pepper over the mushrooms, tossing to ensure they are well coated. Season with salt to taste.
Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
Roast the Mushrooms:
- Arrange the seasoned mushrooms in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and slightly caramelized, stirring halfway through to ensure even cooking.
Finish and Serve:
- Remove the roasted mushrooms from the oven and let them cool slightly. Transfer the mushrooms to a serving dish.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and, if desired, grated Parmesan cheese.
- Serve the Black Pepper Roasted Mushrooms immediately, enjoying the tender, flavorful mushrooms with the aromatic black pepper and the subtle hint of green tea from the rubs.
