Avocado Ciabatta
A simple yet delicious light meal combining the crispiness of Italian bread with the creamy texture of avocado—perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack.
Ingredients (serves 1):
-
10g BBQ tea seasoning (black tea base, adds subtle smoky aroma and enhances flavor)
-
1 ciabatta roll
-
1 ripe avocado
-
Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
-
Pinch of salt
-
Squeeze of lemon juice (optional, to prevent browning)
-
2–3 slices of ham (optional)
-
2–3 cherry tomatoes, halved (optional)
Method:
-
Prepare the bread: Slice the ciabatta roll in half and toast in an oven or air-fryer at 180 °C (350 °F) for 3–5 minutes until crisp.
-
Prepare the avocado: Halve the avocado, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh. Slice thinly or mash lightly. Add a squeeze of lemon juice if desired to prevent browning.
-
Assemble: Spread the avocado evenly over the toasted ciabatta halves. Season lightly with salt, black pepper, and the BBQ tea seasoning. Top with ham and cherry tomatoes if using.
-
Serve: Enjoy immediately, or wrap in plastic wrap and slice in half for easy portability.
Chef’s Notes:
-
For extra richness, add a slice of cheese, a fried egg, or a few lettuce leaves.
-
Ciabatta can be swapped for baguette, whole-grain toast, or any preferred bread.
-
Choose an avocado that yields gently to pressure—too firm or too soft will affect texture.
