-
5g green tea rubs (a mixture of green tea leaves, sugar, and spices)
-
200g fresh okra, tips and tails trimmed
-
2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 small onion, finely chopped
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
-
1/4 cup soy sauce
-
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
-
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish
-
Optional: 1/4 cup toasted sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Green Tea Rubs:
-
Combine the green tea leaves, sugar, and spices in a small bowl to create the green tea rubs. This mixture will be used to season the okra.

Cook the Okra:
-
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the okra and cook for about 2-3 minutes until tender but still crisp. Drain and set aside.
-

Sauté the Aromatics:
-
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute, or until fragrant.
-
-
Simmer the Sauce:
-
Stir in the white wine vinegar and soy sauce. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until the sauce thickens slightly, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
-
-
Combine the Ingredients:
-
Add the cooked okra to the skillet with the sauce. Toss gently to coat the okra evenly with the sauce.
-
-
Finish and Serve:
-
Transfer the okra to a serving plate. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro and, if desired, toasted sesame seeds.
-
