BBQ Cherry Sauce Grilled Ribs Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 9g Tea&Grill BBQ green tea seasoning
  • 2 racks pork ribs (about 1.5kg), trimmed of excess fat
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh rosemary
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh thyme
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup cherry juice (or pomegranate juice as a substitute)
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions, for garnish
Instructions:
Prepare the Ribs:
  • Pat the pork ribs dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, combine the minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped rosemary, and chopped thyme. Mix well.
  • Rub the olive oil all over the ribs, then rub the herb mixture onto the ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated. Season the ribs generously with salt, black pepper, and 5g of the Tea&Grill BBQ green tea seasoning. Cover the ribs with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to allow the flavors to penetrate.
Preheat the Grill:
  • Preheat your grill to medium heat (about 175°C or 350°F). If using a charcoal grill, arrange the coals for indirect heat.
Grill the Ribs:
  • Place the ribs on the grill, bone-side down. Grill for about 2-3 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F). Maintain a consistent temperature and baste the ribs with a mixture of cherry juice, apple cider vinegar, and honey every 30-45 minutes to keep them moist and flavorful.
Prepare the BBQ Cherry Sauce:
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the cherry juice, apple cider vinegar, honey, ketchup, and BBQ sauce. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until it thickens slightly. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.
Finish and Serve:
  • During the last 15-20 minutes of grilling, brush the ribs generously with the BBQ cherry sauce. Continue to grill, turning occasionally, until the sauce is caramelized and the ribs are fully cooked.
  • Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before cutting into individual portions.
  • Arrange the ribs on a serving platter. Garnish with chopped green onions and a drizzle of the remaining BBQ cherry sauce.
  • Serve immediately, enjoying the tender, smoky, and sweet-savory BBQ Cherry Sauce Grilled Ribs with the unique flavor of green tea seasoning.
