Instructions
1. Prepare the Dough:
In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, sugar, and yeast. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, mixing until the dough comes together. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
2. Make the Tea-Flavored Topping:
In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, black tea seasoning, onion, tomato, red bell pepper, garlic, tomato paste, and all the spices (cumin, paprika, cinnamon, sumac, salt, and pepper).
3. Assemble the Lahmacun:
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat. Divide the dough into 6-8 small balls. Roll each ball out on a floured surface into a thin circle or oval, about 10 inches in diameter. Spread a thin layer of the meat topping evenly over each dough circle.
4. Bake:
Place the prepared lahmacun onto the hot pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for 5–7 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the topping is cooked through. Repeat with the remaining dough and topping.
5. Serve:
Serve the tea-flavored lahmacun warm, garnished with fresh parsley or arugula. Squeeze lemon juice over the top for added brightness. Enjoy your Tea-Flavored Lahmacun, a creative fusion of traditional Turkish and aromatic tea flavors!
