Kelp and Pork Rib Soup with Black Tea BBQ Seasoning Recipe
Ingredients:
- 6g black tea BBQ seasoning
- 1 cup boiling water
- 2 pounds pork ribs, cut into individual ribs
- 1 large piece of kelp, about 8 inches square, soaked and cleaned
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 8 cups chicken or pork broth
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions, for garnish
Instructions:
Prepare the Black Tea Marinade:
- In a small bowl, mix the black tea BBQ seasoning with the boiling water. Allow the tea to steep for 3-4 minutes, then strain and let it cool. This mixture will be used to marinate the pork ribs.
Marinate the Pork Ribs:
- Place the pork ribs in a shallow dish and pour the cooled black tea marinade over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to 4 hours.
Prepare the Soup:
- Remove the ribs from the marinade, discarding the marinade, and pat the ribs dry. Cut the soaked kelp into 1-inch wide strips.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Cook until the onion is softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the marinated ribs to the pot and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.
- Pour in the chicken or pork broth, add the kelp strips, and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the flavors are well combined.
Season and Serve:
- Season the soup with salt and pepper to taste. Remove the pot from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Serve the kelp and pork rib soup in bowls, garnished with chopped fresh cilantro and green onions.
- Enjoy your Kelp and Pork Rib Soup with a hint of black tea BBQ seasoning, perfect for a hearty and healthy meal. The combination of the savory ribs, nutritious kelp, and the unique flavor of the black tea BBQ seasoning creates a comforting and delicious soup experience.
