Radish and Corn Rib Soup Recipe
Ingredients:
- 6g black tea BBQ seasoning
- 1 cup boiling water
- 2 pounds pork ribs, cut into individual ribs
- 1 large (daikon radish), peeled and cubed
- 2 ears of corn, kernels removed
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste for spiciness)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 large carrots, peeled and cut into chunks
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup chicken or pork broth
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
Instructions:
Prepare the Black Tea Marinade:
- Combine the black tea BBQ seasoning with the boiling water in a small bowl. Allow the tea to steep for 3-4 minutes, then strain and let it cool. This mixture will be used to marinate the ribs.
Prepare the Marinade for the Ribs:
- In a large bowl, mix the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
Marinate the Ribs:
- Add the ribs to the bowl with the spice mix and pour the cooled black tea marinade over them. Toss to coat the ribs evenly, then cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to 4 hours.
Prepare the Soup Base:
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Cook until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
Add the Marinaded Ribs and Vegetables:
- Remove the ribs from the marinade, discarding the marinade, and add them to the pot. Add the cubed radish, corn kernels, and carrot chunks. Pour in the water and broth.
Simmer the Soup:
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the vegetables are cooked through.
Season and Serve:
- Taste the soup and adjust the seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed. Ladle the soup into bowls and serve hot with a side of your choice.
- Enjoy your Radish and Corn Rib Soup, a hearty and nutritious meal that's perfect for a cold day or a family dinner. The combination of the tender ribs, crunchy radish, and sweet corn creates a satisfying and delicious soup experience.
