Spicy Meat Skewers Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon black tea powder
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef or chicken
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 8 wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
Instructions:
Prepare the Marinade:
- In a small bowl, mix the black tea powder with 1/2 cup of hot water. Allow the tea to steep for 3-4 minutes, then strain and let it cool.
Prepare the Meat Mixture:
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef or chicken, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, black pepper, breadcrumbs, and beaten egg.
- Gradually add the cooled black tea to the meat mixture, mixing until well combined.
- Cover and refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Form the Meat Skewers:
- Preheat your grill or broiler to medium-high heat.
- Remove the meat mixture from the refrigerator. Thread the mixture onto the prepared skewers, making sure to pack the meat tightly onto each skewer.
Grill the Skewers:
- Grill the skewers for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meat is cooked through and has a nice char on the outside.
- During the last few minutes of grilling, brush the skewers with the vegetable oil to enhance their flavor and prevent them from drying out.
Serve:
- Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
- Serve the spicy meat skewers hot, with any remaining marinade as a dipping sauce if desired.
- Enjoy your Spicy Meat Skewers with a hint of black tea flavor, perfect for a barbecue or a casual get-together with friends.
