Beef and Radish Meatballs

Ingredients

For the Meatballs:

500g (1 lb) ground beef

1 medium-sized carrot, grated

1 egg

1 teaspoon salt-5g

1/2 teaspoon black pepper-2.5g

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder-2.5g

1 teaspoon green tea powder-15g

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)

For the Sauce:

1 cup beef or vegetable broth- 240 g

1 tablespoon soy sauce-15g

1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)-5g

1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar-15g

Salt and pepper to taste-5g

Instructions

1. Make the Meatball Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, grated carrot, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, parsley, and 1 teaspoon of tea powder.

Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated. Roll the mixture into small meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter.

2. Cook the Meatballs

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through (about 8-10 minutes). Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.

3. Prepare the Tea-Infused Sauce

In the same skillet, combine the green tea seasoning, beef broth, soy sauce, honey, and 1 teaspoon of tea powder. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat. If the sauce needs thickening, mix cornstarch with a tablespoon of water and whisk it into the sauce. Simmer until the sauce thickens slightly. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper.

4. Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Return the meatballs to the skillet with the sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes, gently spooning the sauce over the meatballs to coat them evenly.
