Grilled Steak Salad with Tea Rubs
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons black tea rubs (such as a mix of black tea leaves, brown sugar, paprika, salt, and black pepper)
- 2 steaks (such as ribeye or sirloin), about 1 pound each
- 1/4 cup olive oil, divided
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 cups mixed salad greens
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
For the Dressing:
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Prepare the Tea Rub:
- Combine the black tea rubs ingredients in a small bowl. Press the rub evenly onto both sides of the steaks.
Grill the Steak:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Drizzle the steaks with a little olive oil and place them on the grill. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness. Remove from the grill and let rest for 5 minutes.
Prepare the Salad:
- In a large bowl, combine the mixed salad greens, cherry tomatoes, red onion, feta cheese, parsley, and mint. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and the lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Make the Dressing:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
Assemble the Salad:
- Slice the rested steak against the grain and arrange on top of the salad mixture. Drizzle the dressing over the salad and steak, and serve immediately.
