Ingredients

  • Meat (lamb or beef, 500 g, cut into small pieces)
  • Onion (1, chopped)
  • Garlic (3 - 4 cloves, minced)
  • Tomato (1, chopped)
  • Green pepper (1, chopped)
  • Yogurt (50 g)
  • Olive oil (appropriate amount)
  • Salt (appropriate amount)
  • Black pepper (appropriate amount)
  • Cumin powder (appropriate amount)
  • Paprika (optional, appropriate amount)
  • Rice (200 g)
  • Water (appropriate amount)
  • Butter (or olive oil, 15 g) Salt (a little)
  • Lettuce leaves (appropriate amount)
  • Lemon (0.5)
  • Coriander (optional, appropriate amount)
  • Black tea seasoning(3g)

Instructions

  1. Place the lamb (or beef) cubes in a large bowl and add the chopped onion, minced garlic, tomatoes, green pepper, yogurt, some olive oil, salt, black pepper, cumin and chili powder (if desired).

  2. Use your hands to mix everything together and stir well to coat the meat evenly with the seasoning and garnishes. Then cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator to marinate for 2-3 hours to allow the meat to absorb the flavors.

  3. Once marinated, thread the meat onto skewers (or directly onto a baking sheet if you don't have skewers).

  4. Preheat the oven to 200°C or set a charcoal grill.

  5. If using the oven, place the skewers on a baking sheet and bake on the middle rack of the oven for 15-20 minutes, turning them occasionally to ensure even cooking, until the meat is golden and cooked through. If using a charcoal grill, place the skewers on the grill and grill over medium heat, turning them over frequently for about 10-15 minutes, depending on the heat and the size of the meat.

  6. Wash the rice, put it in a pot, add an appropriate amount of water (generally 1.5-2 times the amount of water as the rice), a little salt and butter (or olive oil).

  7. After boiling the water over high heat, turn down the heat, cover the pot, and cook slowly until the rice is cooked through and the water is basically dried up. Do not open the lid frequently during the cooking process of the rice to avoid affecting the taste of the rice. After cooking, turn off the heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes, then gently spread the rice with chopsticks.

  8. Place a layer of cooked rice on a plate first.

  9. Remove the grilled skewers from the skewers and place them on the rice.

  10. Place a few lettuce leaves on the side, and squeeze some lemon juice on them according to personal preference. If you like, you can also sprinkle some chopped coriander and Black tea seasoning as decoration.
