Freshly Sliced Beef Powder Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 pound fresh beef sirloin or flank steak
- 6g green tea bbq seasonings
- 2 cups rice noodles (fresh or dried)
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, chopped
- 1/4 cup sliced red chili peppers (optional, for heat)
- 1/4 cup sliced green onions
- 1/4 cup lime wedges
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
Prepare the Beef:
- Slice the beef thinly against the grain. If the beef is too tough to slice, partially freeze it for 30 minutes to make slicing easier. Season the sliced beef with salt and pepper.
Cook the Beef:
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and cook until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
Prepare the Broth:
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent and the garlic is fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Add the beef broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Cook the Noodles:
- If using dried rice noodles, soak them in warm water for 15-20 minutes until soft. Drain and set aside. If using fresh noodles, simply rinse them under cold water.
Assemble the Beef Powder:
- Divide the cooked noodles among serving bowls. Top with the cooked beef slices. Pour the hot broth over the noodles and beef. Garnish with fresh cilantro, mint leaves, sliced red chili peppers (if using), and green onions. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
Serve:
- Serve the beef powder hot. Allow diners to squeeze lime juice over their bowls for added freshness.
