Honey Glazed Shrimp Recipe
Ingredients:
- 6g green tea bbq seasonings
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice wine or dry sherry
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
- Steamed rice or noodles, for serving
Instructions:
Prepare the Shrimp:
- Clean the shrimp by removing the shells and deveining them. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels.
Season the Shrimp:
- Season the shrimp with the green tea bbq seasonings, a pinch of salt, and freshly ground black pepper.
Cook the Shrimp:
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Sauce:
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Add the honey, soy sauce, rice wine, and white vinegar to the skillet. Stir well to combine.
Thicken the Sauce:
- In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water to create a slurry. Add the slurry to the sauce in the skillet and stir continuously until the sauce thickens.
Combine Shrimp and Sauce:
- Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet with the sauce. Toss the shrimp in the sauce to coat evenly. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to allow the shrimp to absorb the flavors of the sauce.
Garnish and Serve:
- Serve the honey-glazed shrimp over steamed rice or noodles. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro. Enjoy your meal!
Tips for Success:
- High Heat Cooking: When frying the shrimp, use high heat to ensure they cook quickly and remain tender.
- Balanced Sweetness: Honey adds sweetness to the dish, but be careful not to overpower it with too much soy sauce, which can make the dish too salty.
- Quick Cooking: Shrimp cook quickly, so keep an eye on them to avoid overcooking, which can make them tough.
Enjoy Your Honey Glazed Shrimp!
- This dish is a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors, with the shrimp remaining tender and juicy. It's a great choice for a quick and delicious meal.
