Grilled Filet Mignon Recipe
Ingredients:
- 6g green tea bbq seasonings
- 2 filet mignon steaks (about 8 ounces each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
Prepare the Steaks:
- Start by seasoning the filet mignon steaks with the green tea bbq seasonings, a pinch of salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Let them sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes while you prepare the other ingredients.
Heat the Pan:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until the oil is shimmering.
Sear the Steaks:
- Add the filet mignon steaks to the skillet and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side until a nice crust forms. This will help lock in the juices and flavor.
Add Aromatics:
- Add the minced garlic and dried thyme to the skillet, and cook for an additional 1 minute, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
Add Butter and Baste:
- Add 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter to the skillet, and use a spoon to baste the steaks with the melted butter and garlic mixture. Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the steaks reach your desired level of doneness. For medium-rare, the internal temperature should be around 130-135°F (54-57°C).
Rest the Steaks:
- Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a cutting board or plate for 5-7 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more tender and juicy steak.
Garnish and Serve:
- Transfer the filet mignon steaks to a serving platter. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and freshness.
Enjoy Your Grilled Filet Mignon:
- Serve your delicious grilled filet mignon as a main course. The combination of tender, juicy steaks, the aromatic garlic and thyme, and the unique flavors of green tea bbq seasonings creates a delightful and satisfying meal. This dish is perfect for a special occasion or a romantic dinner. Enjoy!
